Adam Morgan Joins Speedworks Motorsport

Adam MorganGinetta GT Supercup champion Adam Morgan announced his drive in the 2012 Speedworks Motorsport team during the Autosport International show at Birmingham’s NEC this weekend.

As his prize for winning Ginettas 2011 title, Adam has received a fully paid for drive in one of the newer, Next Generation Touring Car specification machines; a second Speedworks Toyota Avensis.

Looking ahead to his debut season in the BTCC, 24-year-old Adam, from Preston, Lancs said: "I'm very excited and I want to get out on track and in the groove as soon as possible. It’s hard to say how quickly I'll adapt and what sort of results I can achieve because front-wheel drive is new territory, but I'll be delighted if I can get inside the top 12 during the first few races.

“I've already driven the Dynojet team's NGTC Avensis and, while it took me a few laps to get used to the feel of the car, I think I adjusted well. On top of that the racing will be different to what I've experienced, but it's a challenge I'll relish."

Lawrence Tomlinson, who is renowned for his hand-on and enthusiastic approach when it comes to nurturing new talent such as Adam Morgan, said his protégé’s graduation to the BTCC was all part of his company’s desire to give up and coming talent a chance at motor sport stardom.

"Ginetta is proud to be associated with this coveted prize, which shows our commitment to helping young talent develop. Adam has only raced cars for two seasons and the competitive nature of the GT Supercup has helped him grow and hone his skills quickly. He's a great ambassador for Ginetta."
